The Lovely Bones

I believe in the so called afterlife, I believe in heavens waiting for me InsyaAllah.

Reading Alice’s book made me thinking a lot of what will happen to people that I will leave behind one day. If my time comes, will my family, my friends and people I close with remember me?

The lovely bones is a powerful book, maybe in a glance the story looks cliche’: a girl murdered..a shattered family..a heaven and earth description. But no, this book gave me a lot to think about, my own life especially. As I think Alice really knew how to describe one event powerfully and so strongly motivated. It’s a very sad book indeed, as I can’t stop crying reading Suzie’s story.

In spite of all the above, I can’t help feeling sick and nausea when Alice described the part when Suzie got raped in a very clear and detail way. For that, I think the book’s cover need to have some kind of warning like “PG (Parental Guide)”

I still am reading it. But I love every minute of the author’s journey..

Read it, the book is soooo good. :) Usually I tend to be a quick reader, just to read the story without trying to really grasp the meaning of the story itself.

For this book, I really am taking time to read it. Every each page has its own meaning, so it’s not a book that I can read quickly…

My heart is really touched by these parts:

People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that’s holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.
